Draft Wisconsin Public Library Standards (4th edition) Checklists - DLTCL document in MS Word.

Draft Wisconsin Public Library Standards (4th edition) Spreadsheets - This Excel spreadsheet is based on 2003 statistics for the standards showing actual 30th (basic), 50th (moderate), 70th (enhanced), and 90th (excellent) percentiles. This spreadsheet has two worksheets--one for the standards by municipal population and another for the standards by library service population.

Administrative Essentials: A Handbook for Wisconsin Public Library Directors - October, 26, 2004. This DLTCL document (MS Word) is a partial draft that contains 10 out of a planned 26 sections.

LSTA Public Library System Study: a Committee Report (PDF) - On July 21, 2003 a committee was appointed to provide suggestions to DLTCL for the implementation of the LSTA Public Library System Study grant category. This report was submitted by the committee, which included David Polodna (Chair), Karen Krueger, Rick Krumwiede, and Jessica MacPhail.

Resolution for Free Public Library Services (Word) - The Wisconsin Library Association Board has adopted a resolution to affirm free public library service in Wisconsin. A draft of the WLA resolution was distributed at the SRLAAW meeting. Posted here is a version of the resolution in Microsoft Word that can be modified for use by any library, library system, or governing body.

Dane County Plan for Library Service (PDF) - April 6, 2000
The plan includes minimum standards for public libraries. The standards have been adopted by the Dane County Board of Supervisors.

Waukesha County Library Standards (PDF) - September 8, 2001
This document describes the standards that must be met in order for a library to qualify for exemption from the county library tax. Of special interest is a fifth standard, Library Services Effort Ratio, that can be used instead of four numerical standards to qualify for exemption.

Walworth County Library Plan (PDF) - June 2000
This county plan requires libraries to meet specific quantitative standards included in the Wisconsin Public Library Standards, i.e., FTE staff per 1000 service population, hours open to the public, collection size for service population. In addition, libraries will be required to meet any three of the remaining quantitative standards.

County Shared Library Services Levy (PDF) - November 13, 2001
The Waukesha County Federated Library System proposes legislation that "will provide counties a tool to account for Crossover Borrowing as well as for other shared services such as full text databases, shared automated circulation systems, or buildings, that are provided to all residents of a county uniformly."
